Current Master's student: University of Pittsburgh School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences - online masters in health informatics program. The design allows for part time and online classes in evenings. There are certificates for professionals who want to gain skills, but not pursue a masters as well. The school assigns a student navigator that reaches out often to check in. The coursework is practical and applied. The school also collects and communicates about internship and work opportunities almost daily! Doctoral Student: Faculty are committed to facilitating success in their students; however there is high academic load which is expected with the program. Strong encouragement for independent or self learning through utilization of online courses despite higher cost of tuition when compared to other universities. Overall, the faculty are educated with minimal TA use; but some professors have inconsistent methods of teaching and don't follow their own syllabus or rubric outlines. Wonderful on campus resources even for online learning, such as through their library system. I believe they will train me appropriately for my future career path and set me on a path for success so that one day I may too pass my knowledge on to others as well.... Read 17 reviews

Current Doctoral student: I am currently a student in the physical therapy program. Class sizes are about 40. It is an accelerated program so it is about 2.5 years instead of 3. Doctoral Student: I love this college. I’m in grad school at Saint Vincent’s and have an overwhelming amount of support from faculty and staff. College staff are extremely helpful and friendly. I love the overalls “family” type of environment the university offers. I went to a large, Big Ten university for my undergraduate degree. I wouldn’t trade my experience there for anything, but sometimes you can get lost in the crowd. It’s a breath of fresh air going to a much smaller school and being able to interact with your professors and staff more personally. There’s also a lot of support the faculty and other students offer like organizing mentoring, study groups, and other assistance needed to name a few. Overall great experience so far.... Master's Student: La Roche is a great university with expanding programs, the education system has been steadily improving throughout the years. Recently, the once college has now transitioned to a university adding more programs, extensive education and resources for students. The university has a great atmosphere with a well diverse group of students. The facility has also contributed to the helping of students and faculty with COVID responses raising money to help combat this virus in trying times. Master's Student: The professors in the MFA Playwriting and Screenwriting department have a vested interest in the success of their students. They encourage free-thought, they embrace individuality, they marvel at students' ideas and encourage exploration of them. The program provides students with real-world experience by affording students opportunities to have their work presented before the Pittsburgh community. The students travel to see plays in other states. They research films, film genres, and theatre and theatre genres as well. The professors are highly educated and graduates of elite universities. Point Park University is an institution that sees its students as people, not bodies in a seat. With this close-knit attention to the learning process, graduates are able to make lasting connections with their professor/mentors who guide students beyond graduation. Doctoral Student: PennWest offers an intense highly academic online opportunity to earn an advanced degree. My class size is small and the relationships with others in my cohort are supportive and encouraging. The instructors are available and responsive and challenge me to accomplish the goals I have set for myself. The course flow sets up the final portfolio's evolution to establish a meaningful project and academic achievement. I feel more connected with my professors and classmates in this program than I ever did in a traditional in-person program.
