Doctoral Student: I am starting CRNA school at UPENN in may of 2024. Although I have not started school to describe my academic experience thus far, I must say that the faculty for the nursing program is the best that I have ever crossed paths with. Being enrolled into a doctoral program, UPENN understands that life still goes on while your sitting in the library studying. They understand that things happen and are always willing to work with their students. Which was a big deal break when applying to their program. They prioritize mental health! They know graduate school isn't all about class, exams and studying. They help you schedule things that make you happy. Ie; working out, hanging with friends, dinners with friends and so on. Current Master's student: I have really enjoyed earning my MPA online through University of Delaware. My classes have been really interesting while also being challenging. Classes like Public Policy and Performance Management allowed me to learn more about my passion for policy evaluation and program evaluation. This experience has shown me that I really enjoy thinking critically about current policies and programs. The classes also gave me the tools I need to be able to do this in-depth, critical thinking. I also took classes that I expected to loath that, to my own surprise, were amazing classes. I am not a very math-brained person so I expected to struggle in statistics and accounting, but my professors were great! Master's Student: Drexel University’s Master of Public Health degree program is allowing me to pursue my strong interest in studying health policies and their effects on communities that vary socioeconomically, racially, ethnically, and environmentally, but also one day impact the lives of patients I am treating as a medical doctor. Being educationally well-rounded in the science of both protecting and improving the health of individuals and their communities is what I hope to achieve through both my public health and medical degrees. Alum: I am enrolled in the IDEPEL for my Education Doctorate. IDEPEL is the Interdisciplinary Doctor of Education Program for Educational Leaders. It is a very rigorous, challenging, and awarding sequence in the instruction, research, projects, practicum requirements, comprehensive examinations, and all other preparations for performing both the dissertation and being ready for career expansions and exploration. The professors are fantastic, well versed, published, experiences, and bring practical experiences to augment theory and instruction. The campus and physical and online libraries are great. The graduate student perks are fantastic, from free use of the fitness center to the ability to use the facilities through the scheduling portal. Master's Student: I am grateful that I was able to apply, interview, and accept my entrance into the program during COVID-19. It was the toughest year for everyone. The best parts of my experience are the fieldwork placements and team-based learning groups. I love learning from hands-on experience with fieldwork. With team-based learning, I enjoy learning from other people and gaining their perspectives. I do not like getting mid-semester warnings if my grade is below an 80% when passing rate is a 73%. I do not enjoy presentations because I get nervous in front of a lot of people. Finally, we have a couple research classes, and I am not the best with research.... Read 19 reviews
