Master's Student: The staff have been nothing but supportive since day one. They take the time to meet with you to discuss your progress and always respond to emails posted during scheduled times. Sadly, a few bad apples made it harder on the new students, resulting in points being deducted due to lack of attendance. If you want to learn rather than participate, many colleges will deduct points for lack of participation; read your handbook. This isn't news; it has been a practice for some time throughout universities. All I know is that these Professors want you to succeed and want you to know your content for the BOARDS!!... Current Master's student: The academic program has been good so far. The office staff (like Bursar’s) is very helpful with any general question. All of the on call representatives are friendly and know what they’re doing. My previous advisor was awesome! She followed up with me consistently without me having to reach out first. She would automatically send emails for us to touch base with reminders on deadlines for picking classes or withdrawing. The online courses are very convenient for a working mom like myself. If the online courses could be more engaging, they would be helpful. Most of the professors assign readings with assignments and you’re kind of left to figure it out in your own. It would be nice to have a recorded lecture or more direction in completing the online assignments. Other than that, the classes have been good. Alum: My special interest is to complete a graduate program in the Special Education (SE). I wish to begin coursework in the Fall of 2023. After recently completing my undergraduate degree in University Studies, I realized the quality of education I received at UHart and wish to continue my journey. The experiences I gained were empowering and life transforming. I enjoy learning literacy skills for children and individuals in my spare time by volunteering to assist individuals with intellectual disabilities. During undergraduate, my concentration was in Montessori Education, which was not inclusive and I experienced discrimination. To add, I did not receive my AMI diploma after not scoring high enough on exam. However, my overall educational experience was enriching. I finished strong, with a bachelor's degree (major) in University Studies, with a GPA of 3.50, magna cum laude. Current Master's student: I am Divine Fossoh, a Catholic Priest, from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kumbo – Cameroon (Central Africa). I was born and raised in Cameroon. Presently, I am serving in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland – Maine (USA). I live in the city of Belfast and work at St. Brendan the Navigator Parish – Camden. I have been admitted into Holy Apostles College and Seminary for a “Master of Arts in Theology Degree Program” with a Concentration in “Moral Theology.” My plan is that, when I am done with my studies and missionary work in the USA and I eventually return to my home diocese, I will be able to assist in teaching “Moral Theology” in Catholic Colleges and Seminaries. For my hobbies, I like sporting activities like soccer, I like reading basketball, volleyball, table tennis, hiking and pool. My experience in Holy Apostles has been good. Master's Student: My experience at Charter Oak has been outstanding. The assistance that has been provided by all departments has been very satisfying for me. I finish my Bachelor’s and started on my Masters’ I like how the faculty is very friendly and willing to assist in one’s success. Overall, the most important fact is that being an online college provides convenience for one to accelerate and achieve one’s goals. There are some professors who expect way too much from the student and forget that most of us are working students. Therefore, I would like to see that change.
