Current Master's student: The program is great! Faculty is great! The school is a little pricy for what it is. The are of Winston-Salem really doesn't have much to offer though. The university can be cheap in their decision making which is unfortunate because sometimes it feels more corporate than higher ed. Current Master's student: What makes this program stand out to me is the knowledge the faculty has in motivating and ensuring their students reach the level of success they dream about. For me, the Kinesiology dept fully understands what it takes for me to become a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) and give 110% in pushing me to reach this goal. My program's curriculum is designed around the licensing requirements for CMPCs which gives me all the confidence in the world that I will graduate fully able to pass my licensing exam. There is also an amazing opportunity for research which will allow me to contribute to the field beyond practical applications. I hope to be apart of research that can develop new outlooks and approaches to mental health within sports and performance.... Read 68 reviews

Master's Student: I am a current student in the Mental Health Counseling program. I am so happy that I decided to be a part of this cohort. The professors are so patient and understanding. They give us the opportunity to work on things independently while also engaging our findings inside the classroom. I appreciate how hands on and interactive the curriculum is. You aren’t just reading the material, but applying it to real life. We get to role play and put ourselves in the position of potential clients. We write out reports and case studies as if we were actively doing client intake. We’re given the opportunity to complete a practicum and two internships. This enhances our counseling techniques and allows us to use our theories in real life settings. NC A&T sets us up for success all the way around.... Read 32 reviews

Current Master's student: My master's program is online, but I am on campus this semester because I play soccer for Catawba. Overall, I like Catawba. Because of its small size, the school has a very family-like atmosphere and everyone knows each other. I believe that in order to foster community, the school needs to hold more events. Master's Student: High Point University's academics are truly extraordinary! I went from a 3.3GPA student in high school to a 3.7GPA student at HPU. My professors all have office hours and phone numbers to reach them at for help if you need it, yet they never coddle any students. As a student with a learning disability, I felt very comfortable inside the classroom and feel more than prepared as I am about to graduate this year. Some majors have a more rigorous curriculum than others, but there seems to always be a healthy balance between exams, papers, projects, proposals, essays, and regular homework. I chose HPU for its high standards and academic program, and after 4 years I know I made the right decision.... Read 12 reviews

Although they have recently changed their name to Carolina University, the Piedmont Divinity School is a high-level divinity school.
