Master's Student: There were many opportunities for interaction between students and faculty, as well as many opportunities to explore areas of study within the chemical engineering major. There were groups who participated in intercollegiate competitions. There were many group projects that offered opportunities to solve problems that are very similar to those that would be encountered in the workplace. The best part of my experience in the program was the opportunity to work with an actual company to design a new rector process for them. The worst part of my experience was trying to take a process control course online because the course did not translate very well into an exclusively online format (the online format was due to COVID).... Alum: The Theology and Religious Studies M.A. program at John Carroll University is amazing. The professors are brilliant and kind, the students are engaged, and the research is relevant. I was able to be involved in interesting coursework and research as well as participate in campus-life since all grad students are encouraged to participate in on-campus activities and events! The program was designed to accommodate online students, so moving to all-online and hybrid-style learning during the pandemic was a breeze. The department offers several certificate programs as well, so classes were usually mixed between M.A.-track, non-degree/certificate track, and undergraduate students, which made the conversations in class really interesting. The school as a whole could improve on graduate housing and parking options, but I know that there are plans in the works to begin to address these issues.... Read 15 reviews

All of the courses are held accountable to a professional standards such as NELP, OSP, CAEP, ISTE. You are able to track your competencies and add skills attached to your mastery of a standard to your professional resume. You are able to make connections with classmates even over zoom because of the design of the courses. To change: They just added the graduate housing semesters! Doctoral Student: Walsh is a great program! The professors and faculty are devoted to students success and lifelong learning. Small class sizes make learning more personable. The tuition cost is a bit hefty but worth the care and attention you receive from the university. Religion is always offered and encouraged but never forced on the students. Sometimes lack of communication and clarity can be problems but are easily solved with contact between the student and staff! They are devoted to producing the best future employees possible and it shows with the effort they put into the program! Alum: In 2011 I took online classes to receive my initial teaching license and then returned in 2019 to complete my MSEd. Although not for everyone, online learning works well for me and therefore I feel my online classes prepared me for my current teaching role as well as if I had taken the classes in-person. Although the master's level classes are rigorous and require planning to accomplish all tasks within their deadlines, the professors understand that we are adults with careers, kids, etc. and therefore continually provide support to reduce misunderstandings and maximize efficiency. When completing my master's thesis, my advisor was helpful and accessible. Although it was difficult to get my school administrators (where I teach) to approve my research project in a timely manner, my Notre Dame professors and advisor typically finished their tasks within a day if not within hours. Master's Student: Ursuline College has provided me an exceptional experience with their "Historic Preservation" Master of Arts program. There is a wide variety of career opportunities that are available which I think makes the program very unique and desirable. The support system is gratifying as each instructor provides you with a lot of viable resources. You get to experience real life opportunities and networking. This includes what you experience in the classroom right outside into the field. Furthermore, I spent my childhood enamored with art, travel and history. That the older I got, I became interested in Interior Design (which I received my bachelor's degree from Ursuline College). I knew I wanted to go back for my master's someday, and I thought that Historic Preservation would be a relevant bridge into the Interior design field. By mixing the "old" with the "new" is also very forthcoming in today's society. My goal is to continue to learn ways to preserve our past while securing our future.... Read 8 reviews

Other: One of the best parts of my program is the reverse classroom learning style. I like this style because instead of passively sitting in lectures without learning any of the material, the reverse classroom learning style forces me to be active in class. This means that I am expected to review the study materials beforehand and can use the quizzes and assessments from class to check my understanding of the material. As medical students, we must balance lectures, practicals, and rotations, which can be stressful and overwhelming. My program's faculty have played an instrumental role in making my experience more rewarding. Having more one-on-one time with my teachers during class has allowed me to understand complex medical concepts better. I can tell that each teacher is genuinely interested in my success, which has motivated me to strive for excellence. I am truly grateful for all the opportunities I have gained from this program and can't wait to see what more is in store for me here.... Read 12 reviews
