Doctoral Student: I am a doctoral student in the doctorate of nursing practice program at UAA in Anchorage, Alaska. I like the small class size, interesting assignments, that there are no textbooks for the courses (all sources are pulled from reliable databases and search engines), interactions among colleagues, and challenging the writing assignments. We are synthesizing new knowledge, not memorizing content! If you consider this a downside, the instructor is a guide and facilitator but is not present in the ‘class’.
