Graduate Student: I have been a graduate student at Duke for almost 4 years in a life-science related PhD( Cell Biology) program. I would highly recommend Duke STEM graduate programs to anyone. Graduate school has a good support systems for students overall when it comes to professional development, exploring alternative career options, student wellness overall. In the past there has been some disagreements between the school administration and graduate school council regarding some student benefits ( coverage of dental insurance etc), but overall I would say students are content with Duke.... Graduate Student: Overall, it’s pretty good to be a grad student at TU in A&S, but that is changing rapidly. The faculty care about us and the other students do as well, but neither the Board of Trustees nor the President nor the Provost (now acting President) actually care about this particular group of students. They’d honestly rather A&S disappear to make way for “industry jobs”. If your goal is to pursue Psychology, then TU is a solid option. Other degrees housed under A&S? I’d look elsewhere just to be safe.... Read 1 review

Master's Student: The first year is very difficult! Learning from artists is tricky at times, but overall very rewarding. My tip is to find professors that either do the work you are most interested in, or maybe you really like the format of their class, because there is no use staying in a class you are not interested in. RISD taught me to always be engaged.... Read 5 reviews

Current Master's student: I am an international student and overall, my experience has been great. However, I was expecting the classes to be more advanced and less theoretical. I feel that some of the classes explore concepts that have been covered during undergraduate programs (marketing basics, research concepts, entrepreneurial concepts). Also, some of the concepts and case studies could be more up-to-date. I also wish the assignments were less focused on academics (APA style etc) and more focused on practical issues such as strategies, problem solving ideas etc... However, the professors are very committed and passionate about their courses and I appreciate that. They make me feel excited about the classes even if I take them at night.... Read 8 reviews
