Master's Student: For a completely online semester due to the pandemic, our professors were extremely understanding and accommodating. A bit unfortunate the school did not provide us with STATA packages and so we had to log into the school's system which ran slow sometime, but overall I felt the school still cared/supported its students in other areas (providing additional study equipment i.e. monitors, desks, etc.)... Master's Student: Loved the campus, the size of the incoming cohort, and the professors and faculty/staff! Had a great time around campus and engaging with off-campus sites and labs! SEAS really does its best to give as many resources as possible out to students (so if you're feeling lost or like some aspect is missing, chances are it's there, ask about it!). Fun community, lovely classrooms, and a welcoming environment.... Read 3 reviews

Master's Student: Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering has been an amazing graduate experience. The professors and instructors are all actively in the space/aerospace industry and bring decades worth of experience to the table. Instructors are always available to answer questions and go out of their way to help in understanding new concepts. The students are all in similar phases of life so it helps to get encouragement from them as well. Recommend for sure!... Read 10 reviews

Current Master's student: I am in the Masters of Science in Public Health in Health Policy and Management program. The first year consists of classes, both in-person and online, and the second year I will work full time as paid field work. Current Master's student: Rollins School of Public Health offers a great deal of concentrations that speak to a great majority of interests. They foster an inclusive environment and are moving in the right direction of acknowledging their own impact in racial and ethnic health disparities. There is more work to be done to increase diversity, but overall, they work with a lot of community partners and provide great training to students to learn new transferable skills.... Alum: NYU has a strong brand name internationally, and in my honest opinion it remains among those few private institutions where you can still get the return on your investment for your education. I secured a Research Assistant Technician job for two years directly after graduating from GSAS, and the combined experiences enabled me to get into medical school after reapplication. For "city kids", New York University is the school for you. New York City is your campus, which may not be for everyone, especially those who want the traditional 'college quad' setup like at an Ivy League school or small liberal arts school. I was able to commute to school from Brooklyn. Bobst Library is like a church to me. Thank you, NYU, for helping me get a 2nd chance at becoming a doctor! I went from a failed Princeton premed to a successful University of Rochester School of Medicine alum who has gone on to becoming a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon in solo private practice.... Alum: I learned a lot, but it was not worth 2 years worth of tuition money. A lot was really redundant. Your experience definitely depends on your concentration that you choose, though. However, during my first year after graduation it was almost impossible to get a decent paying job that was more than $15/hour which is not fair wage with a masters degree. Would I do it again? No, I would work in public health instead of getting a masters because Pitt charged way too much money for the degree!... Read 4 reviews

Master's Student: The university has world-class faculty and a stellar location in downtown Washington DC. I am at the Milken Institute School of Public Health, and i appreciate that the school has their own financial aid office, student services, alumni office, etc so students have access to more resources. One let down has been that the school boasted having "flexible" class schedules for part time students who are working, but unfortunately many of the classes I have to take begin at 3pm (which doesnt work with my 9-5pm work schedule). For grad students interested in public health at GWU, i'd recommend looking at the online program because the schedule is more flexible and geared towards those who work. Also as part of the MPH program we are expected to complete a practicum which is challenging for those who work full time.... Read 11 reviews
