Master's Student: I am an adult learner with decades of work experience, but I had a hard time completing my bachelors as a single mom. I went to school on and off for decades but was never able to finish. Once my son was older, I was able to finish my bachelor’s degree in Information Technology Management from Western Governors University in February 2023. WGU's competency-based education allowed me to go through the curriculum and complete assignments on my own time. I was able to utilize my experience through the years and accelerate in certain courses. This was crucial to my success as I was a full-time IT Manager with a heavy workload, and I needed flexibility. I had such a positive experience with WGU that it gave me the confidence to continue learning and obtain my master’s degree.
