Alum: The professors and administration are all very helpful and genuinely want to see you succeed. They make themselves available for questions and concerns often and will work with any situation to make sure you can be successful in the program and beyond. My only complaint is that I wish there had been an option to do dual tracks of the Health Education program because now I have to take far more classes outside of the program in order to sit for a specific certification exam (which is geared more toward the track that I didn't take). Overall, though, the Health Education program was so well-taught that it prepared me to pass the CHES exam on my first attempt without having studied!... Read 9 reviews

Master's Student: The best parts of my program have been the field experience and collaborating with other individuals in my classes of different age groups. I have learned an immense amount from my colleagues in all of my courses and find that we support each other in a way that I never experienced as an undergrad at Miami University. In this field of work it is important that you have people who you can lean on and go to for questions and I have found that here in this program. I would say the only thing that I dislike about this program is how it is completely online. I say that only because I would love to have in-person classes with my colleagues to make those supports and relationships stronger. Overall this is an awesome program that Miami provides and I could not be any happier with my experience.... Read 1 review

Master's Student: I really enjoyed my 2 years in graduate school at Xavier University. Having grown up in Cincinnati I want to get away for undergrad but coming home for grad school was great. All of my classes were in the evening so I would work and do my internship during the day. I was in the Sports Administration- Masters of Education program & graduated in 2012. The head of the program was also my advisor which was really nice. My internship was in the Recreation Department at Xavier and have worked in Campus Recreation ever since. Xavier’s campus was nice when I was there but it’s much nicer now. They have one of the newest, state of the art recreation centers in the country now along with more dinning & housing options. If you are looking for a grad program at a major Division 1 university but still has a small campus feel Xavier University is a great choice!... Read 2 reviews

You are able to track your competencies and add skills attached to your mastery of a standard to your professional resume. Master's Student: The instructors really cared about the success of the students. It was difficult for me in the beginning, because I wasn't attending in person only online, but when I found my rythem everything started to click. The curriculum and schedules were laid out Is in an easy to understand format. Accessing the University library was a breeze I ordered several books and they all came on time. Did I mention I live in Texas and the University is in Ohio. The curriculum was challenging but not impossible. I love a curriculum that challenges my intellect and not so easy to the point where I would get bored. My instructors were very adamant in citing sources and peer reviewed articles and I know that would only make me a stronger student in the future. The instructors at Muskingum really give you a solid base to build on and once you have that solid foundation Learning later concepts is a breeze. Master's Student: The online experience at Franciscan University is thoroughly impressive! The instructors are responsive to emails and questions. The video lectures are presented in a fashion that makes it very easy for online students to understand the material as if we were in the actual classroom. Lastly, I think it is very neat that Franciscan offers social online events for the online students. Such as praying the Rosary, watching an episode of the Chosen together, or having a speaker for a specific topic of discussion. Very impressed with the online program from this school!... I was able to get ongoing assistance with assignments and my professor was always available and willing to help me. Alum: In 2011 I took online classes to receive my initial teaching license and then returned in 2019 to complete my MSEd. Although not for everyone, online learning works well for me and therefore I feel my online classes prepared me for my current teaching role as well as if I had taken the classes in-person. Although the master's level classes are rigorous and require planning to accomplish all tasks within their deadlines, the professors understand that we are adults with careers, kids, etc. and therefore continually provide support to reduce misunderstandings and maximize efficiency. When completing my master's thesis, my advisor was helpful and accessible. Although it was difficult to get my school administrators (where I teach) to approve my research project in a timely manner, my Notre Dame professors and advisor typically finished their tasks within a day if not within hours.
