Master's Student: I completed my Bachelor's degree here, and liked it so much that I needed to come back for my Master's. The faculty is extremely caring, and the class sizes are really small for a D1 school. There are hundreds of student involvement organizations, and graduate students have ample opportunities for research and beyond. Unfortunately, CMU is moving away from Social Sciences and focusing its energy and resources on STEM fields. Therefore, my program (Cultural Resource Management) recently went on hiatus, and much of our faculty is getting laid-off. It's quite sad to see such a shift in campus culture, especially considering the fact that we were once leaders in Education and Psychology. The next few years will probably see massive budget cuts in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. It is truly a shame, because I wouldn't trade my experiences here for the world....
