Master's Student: I am getting a masters in the science of instructional design through Grand Canyon University (GCU). GCU provides me with an academic adviser and a financial adviser who are available to me all the time through a very user-friendly online platform. The instructors have been knowledgeable and supportive throughout the courses I have taken so far and the assignments have been challenging but not overwhelming. I am enjoying the process of working from home. Master's Student: The program staff do their best to facilitate a community online. Communication is overall pretty good. There are weekly, if not daily, emails being sent out with information on program happenings. Additionally, program staff are great at sharing/forwarding job and internship opportunities. Some of the professors aren't the best at teaching on a virtual platform but that seems to be common at most schools.... Read 21 reviews

Other: As a mother of four children, I have struggled since I have no degrees. I dropped out of school with my first pregnancy early in life. I went to get my GED with my daughter in 2012, and we both received a GED together! I lost a few of my grandkids to the system several years ago, and due to my own childhood traumas, I have decided to pursue a degree in Social work to help people struggling in the system. I have a passion for protecting children from predators, and reuniting families that are deserving to be reunited. I hope to make an impact on the lives of children, and families.
