Master's Student: Although I have not started at Duke University to pursue my women's health nurse practitioner (WHNP) degree, I know that in the short time I have experienced Duke that I have made the right decision in attending. From the moment I started researching WHNP programs I felt a kinship to Duke. I felt they had not only their students best interest at heart but the patients that would be receiving care from their graduates. Patient advocacy, especially related to women, is something I am very passionate about. Duke University emphasizes equality and fair care for all, and that is why I felt there was no other right fit for my graduate degree education than Duke.... Read 7 reviews

Master's Student: Application process for the Genetic Counseling Masters Program was very intense with an essay and an interview involved. Current Master's student: To provide some context, I am currently attending NYU in the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development to earn a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. The program is excellent in the sense that it is organized, comprehensive, and highly individualized as the class size is so small (capped at 40 per year). The program is designed to mold each student into well-rounded, generalized practitioners which sets a great foundation for us if we choose to further our careers with certain specialties. The professors of this program are without a doubt some of the most passionate people in the field and it shows during their lectures and how they interact with students. Professors highlight that while yes they are teaching us, they also learn from us with our new perspectives as well which evenly places importance on both the professor and the student. Overall, I would highly recommend this program to anyone pursuing a DPT degree.... Read 21 reviews

Doctoral Student: The best part of being in the Endocrinology and Reproductive Physiology program in UW-Madison’s School of Medicine and Public Health is the community. I love the diversity of endocrinology training my program has, as well as the tight-knit, family-style bonding we do over science. In my cohort alone, we are studying bovine ovarian cycles and luminal breast cancers all the way to diabetes and SSRI effects on bone density. SMPH does a great job of housing unique programs like my own, facilitating collaborations between labs, and providing great goals and standards for all students to learn and achieve together. Although expected with having a large campus and being in diverse fields, the worst part of my academic experience is being spread across campus from my friends. With our busy research schedules, these distances across campus stop us from studying together for classes as often as we should.... Read 2 reviews

Current Master's student: Overall the Medex program is great. The experience of being in the only Physician Assistant Program in Washington is pretty awesome. Diatactic year has a lot of up's and down's personally due to the accelleration of a program at this caliber. The diversity of the cohort exceeds my expectations, along with the instructors whom have vastly different backgrounds to share. The only complaint I have thus far, almost 2 quarters in, is that the program could be a little more organized i.e- Canvas: where most of our assigments and content is found online. Overall, the experience has been great!... Read 7 reviews

Doctoral Student: I will be entering my first year at GW and so far the academic experience has been stimulating. Even though I have officially taken classes, I have been introduced to programs and faculty members who challenge my thinking. I also enjoy the interdisciplinary nature of the school, partnerships exist with other programs like the MPH program and even the policy and schools. I have not had many complaints regarding the academics besides that GW does not have many regional campuses to encourage learning outside of the Foggy Bottom neighborhood.... Read 10 reviews
