Master's Student: There was a strong focus on inclusivity, equality, and policy change. Many class materials (ex: textbooks, articles on research studies) were outdated, therefore lacking inclusive terminology and relevant data to our current political environment. Abolitionism, activism, and advocacy were promoted. Enlightening lessons were provided based on antioppressive and antiracist ideologies. I appreciated the emphasis on community engagement and macro level issues that impact current and future clients. There was a somewhat racially diverse student population. Overall, Augsburg University's Social Work Graduate Program was effective in educating students on activism and advocacy but many of the class's curriculums were not updated (beyond the year 2015 for publishing) and social identities of students and populations being studied were not well respected....
