Doctoral Student: One thing I really appreciate about USC dentistry was my ability to begin hands-on work my first week in the program. All of my pre-clinical courses have a lab component that is 100% in-person, and I have learned so much from starting out with these experiences so early into my career. USC dentistry also prides their program on problem-based learning, which I have really enjoyed. I find myself much more engaged working so closely with faculty and with only 7 other students getting to actively participate, compared to sitting in a lecture hall with all of my classmates and simply taking notes.... Freshman: UCLA SOD is known as one of the top dental schools in the country. The facilities are old, but what makes the school the "top" is the extensive research and the subsequent talent that the research brings. The student body is extremely talented and diverse, with some of the highest entrance averages in the country. UCLA students are able to get into specialties at one of the highest rates of the country. My favorite thing about being a student at UCLA dental is the chance to be in a P/F system among so many smart and talented classmates. Doctoral Student: Dugoni is one of the best dental schools in the country and will thoroughly prepare you as a clinician when you graduate. It is a 4-year program condensed into 3 years, so although the first year of didactics is intense, you go through it together with all your classmates and have sufficient resources to prepare and pass your courses as well as prepare you for Boards and Licensure exams. The two years in clinic give you experiences with a wide patient base due to the school's location in San Francisco and you have well-experienced faculty to support and guide you through the learning process in clinic. I have had tremendous opportunity for procedure experiences. We have a strong pediatric, OS, endo, and emergency clinic rotations which profusely prepares you with experiences and knowledge that you will utilize post-graduation.... Read 2 reviews
