Master's Student: The education is outdated with all of the lectures being 4 years old, however, it is still good education. I like the option of learning on my own time with few regularly scheduled live classes. I also like the fact that I can do my clinical education where I live and in the community that I have grown up in which gives me even more sense of purpose as I continue my education and medical career. I have been able to build relationships with Physician Assistants and future Physician Assistants all over the country which I would not have the opportunity to do if I would have chose the university in my hometown.... Doctoral Student: I would highly recommend applying to Graduate Resident and Resident Assistant roles in the dorms on campus. Housing can be very expensive, and I helped cut this cost by working as a Resident Assistant on campus. I received free housing and a stipend while getting to engage in the Duke undergraduate community.... Read 16 reviews

Graduate Student: I have had a great time here. It's really about the people. My fellow classmates are wonderful, brilliant, accomplished people and I am lucky to be here. The faculty are similarly great as are most of the physicians. I have very few complaints but here are 2 fairly big ones: 1. Research isn't emphasized enough. I was told many times first year not to worry about it "yet" but then was never told when I should worry about it. Luckily I found my own research projects but for competitive specialties, you can't act like research isn't a big deal. 2. Clinical grading is so subjective. I've gotten the exact same scores and received honors in one rotation but not another. I've gotten amazing comments but 4/5 scores or good comments but 5/5 scores. Also, having only Honors/Pass/Fail hurts people just out of the Honors range. No one fails. Yet those who barely try "earn" a Pass while those who perform well and try hard could get screwed by one tough evaluator and receive the same Pass.... Read 1 review

Current Doctoral student: University of Michigan Medical School offers an exceptional medical education experience. What is unique about Michigan medical school is the innovative focus they have on their curriculum and culture of continuous improvement. The pre-clinical curriculum is only 12 months, which allows students to start their core clinical rotations in their second year. This affords students the opportunity to gain and improve upon clinical skills early, have more time to do research and cultivate career interests, and builds a foundation of knowledge that makes the students some of the best clinically trained in the country. Not only is the student body full of people with diverse, impressive accomplishments and experiences, but the culture is one where students genuinely value and support each other.... Read 2 reviews

Doctoral Student: Attended before the downtown campus was upgraded to the current setting, quite some time ago. Boston, MA, has one of the supreme environments for medicine, and feel privileged in given the opportunity to engage and experience first hand. After visiting recently, I noted the more engaging living facilities at TUFTS Med, libraries, surrounding cafes, and dorms. The enhanced common areas of study 100% improved the teaching environment, encouraging engagement, camaraderie, and intellectual thought.... Read 25 reviews

Master's Student: I have yet to enroll for Fall 2023 after receiving my acceptance letter due to a delay in my need-based financial aid from JHU. However the Homewood Campus in Baltimore is beautiful and my Student Advisor, Alexis has been extremely helpful in initiating my enrollment process and answering all of my questions in a timely matter. My intended Advanced Academic Program is the accelerated (2 semester), dual-modality, 40-credit M.S. in Biotechnology, Biodefense concentration. All of the anticipated course subjects are diverse and there's even a customizable core lab course on campus (at least until Summer 2024). I can't wait and I wish you all the best in your search for academic programs or professional certifications.... Read 18 reviews

Doctoral Student: The Academics are strong at UFCOM and graduates are very well-trained and tend to do well in residency. Some professors are elite and well-renowned. Specifically, human anatomy lab is very strong at UFCOM. Some lectures can be improved, and especially exams in the first two years, as sometimes the tested material was subjective and poorly written. The exam questions were all written by the lecturers based on their lectures, rather than including NBME-style questions to better prepare us for our boards exams. Clinical rotations are strong at UF Health and we get wide clinical exposure.... Read 8 reviews

Doctoral Student: The University of Georgia College of Pharmacy's Doctor of Pharmacy PharmD program is challenging but highly rewarding. The curriculum is constantly evolving to meet the needs of incoming pharmacy students, but also adapts to changes in current practice. Most professors at the College of Pharmacy have roles outside of academia as clinicians in the hospital or community settings. The lectures, material, and content is a well-balanced blend of guideline-recommendations as well as institution/provider-specific recommendations. The students receive knowledge about current practices and updates to practice from the faculty who are always up-to-date and extremely knowledgeable on their area of specialties.... Read 7 reviews
