Niche User: What makes the program great is TCU's engineering, business and nursing programs are each ranked in the top 100, as did the university as a Best College for Veterans. The best thing about TCU is that even though academics are taken seriously, there are so many opportunities to be involved on campus, contribute to the community, and be involved in organizations and interests that keep a balance in college life. The best thing about TCU is the atmosphere. Master's Student: I am in my 3rd semester as a speech and language pathology graduate student. I have had 1-on-1 mentorship from a La Salle supervisor during clinic and from one of the faculty members. The professors care about their students and provide rigorous, evidence-based information that is useful in our careers and practicals. Our class consists of 33 students and everyone is supportive of each other and very friendly. The program feels like family and it is very easy to get integrated and get involved. I have also had the opportunity to lead a graduate research project that we will present at the ASHA and PSHA conventions in the fall and spring. Overall, this has been one of the best experiences of my life and is shaping my future clinical practice by some of the best experts in the field. Current Master's student: I really enjoyed my overall experience because the professors were very knowledgeable and informative about the subject matter. The PowerPoint presentations were always updated to the latest interventions relating to relevant medical advice. The professors were also easy to talk to and understand. I had a great time at TWU and felt as if I learned as much as I could, and more. TWU has exceeded my expectations in the sense that they had multiple ways of reinforcing the material, such as clinical checkoffs, peers who volunteered to reteach difficult concepts, and many resources available in the library.
