Current Master's student: Thus far, the experience has been streamlined despite the asynchronous online curriculum. In fact, I find the learning to be easier in this format given that I am in the online MBA program while also working as a neurosurgical resident. I am about 7 months into the program at this time and have found the content and professors to be excellent. I do feel that more interactive methods during the optional synchronous sessions would be helpful for learning. Master's Student: Although UNCW is seen as a smaller school, their academics are top notch. They have some of the best programs in the country, as evidenced by the Cameron School of Business and their Marine Science Programs. I have personally worked with department heads on independent projects after having expressed an interest in their subject matter. You do have to get the basic non-degree specific university requirements out of the way, but I found that you are allowed to test out of most of them through CLEP tests. The papers are plentiful and I feel like I can prepare a written report for executive review, easily. Master's Student: High Point University's academics are truly extraordinary! I went from a 3.3GPA student in high school to a 3.7GPA student at HPU. My professors all have office hours and phone numbers to reach them at for help if you need it, yet they never coddle any students. As a student with a learning disability, I felt very comfortable inside the classroom and feel more than prepared as I am about to graduate this year. Some majors have a more rigorous curriculum than others, but there seems to always be a healthy balance between exams, papers, projects, proposals, essays, and regular homework.
