Alum: I’ll start with the worst, being away from my family. The weather was a change from the sunny California to the cold winters in Colorado. The best thing was being the first generation of my family to graduate not only in one but to majors psychology and sociology. My family coming from a low income based and struggling with four other siblings was hard but pushed me harder for an education to pursue my dreams. My mother struggled with mental illness and addiction that almost cost me my dreams. Alum: Being able to attend college for the first time, as a full time student, full time mom, and full time employee was crazy to me! But the professors are great, if you do not understand something, they'll help. I had a hard time appreciating the discussion board for the longest time. Now I apprecaite understanding where other people come from, their experiences and perspectives. This program has allowed me to do what I thought was impossible. If that weren't enough, I'm returning for the masters program as soon as I am able. The only thing I did not like is something that is not in their control. I think it is a waste for most people to take elective classes that have nothing to do with their degree, just to satisfy the requirements. This is nation wide, not specific to the school but should be changed. Why make students go into debt for a required class that brings little to no investment in their future?... Read 106 reviews

Graduate Student: It has been great for both undergrad and graduate school. I completed my undergrad program in Special Education. I am now returning to graduate school to participate in the BCBA Special Education program. I am thrilled to continue with UNC as it has been a great school for me.
