Current Master's student: To provide some context, I am currently attending NYU in the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development to earn a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. The program is excellent in the sense that it is organized, comprehensive, and highly individualized as the class size is so small (capped at 40 per year). The program is designed to mold each student into well-rounded, generalized practitioners which sets a great foundation for us if we choose to further our careers with certain specialties. The professors of this program are without a doubt some of the most passionate people in the field and it shows during their lectures and how they interact with students. Professors highlight that while yes they are teaching us, they also learn from us with our new perspectives as well which evenly places importance on both the professor and the student. Overall, I would highly recommend this program to anyone pursuing a DPT degree.... Read 19 reviews

Master's Student: My experience, so far, has been exceptional. Like all institutions, the professors come from a wide background—who you click with will be different for everyone. But the real beauty of the school and program come with the classmates. Start to finish, everyone I've meet is down to Earth, hungry, and supportive. They make you want to be a better writer.... Doctoral Student: As a full-time staff member, part-time student, the academic rigor has been challenging yet fulfilling. The first year is designed to get a doctoral student acclimated to the level of academic rigor expected, familiar with the "lay-of-land" and introduction to research and the higher education landscape. I took a long gap between getting my masters and now pursuing my doctorate degree, so ramping up to handle the level of research needed to include the amount of reading required, and levels of presentations/activities required was a learning and balancing curve.... Master's Student: My experience has been great. Half of the program I spent online due to the pandemic and the instructors were more than happy to accommodate students so they could be successful. My favorite thing about the school of education is the wellness room which allows me to pump milk for my infant and store milk while I am on campus.... Read 4 reviews

Alum: My experience at The George Washington University School of Education and Human Development was great. My advisors worked with me to develop a schedule that worked with my full-time work schedule, they provided me with a mentor who mentored me and coached me through my first 2 years of professional teaching while I was enrolled in their education program. They also continue, more than 10 years later, to provide me with professional development opportunities at very low or no cost. Great school, great peoople.... Read 9 reviews

Master's Student: I will be graduating the Masters of Furniture Design Program at RISD next year. So far my experience has been equally wonderful, challenging and disappointing. Alum: The professors and administration are all very helpful and genuinely want to see you succeed. They make themselves available for questions and concerns often and will work with any situation to make sure you can be successful in the program and beyond. My only complaint is that I wish there had been an option to do dual tracks of the Health Education program because now I have to take far more classes outside of the program in order to sit for a specific certification exam (which is geared more toward the track that I didn't take). Overall, though, the Health Education program was so well-taught that it prepared me to pass the CHES exam on my first attempt without having studied!... Read 9 reviews

Niche User: I really have enjoyed this school quite a bit. It’s small enough so that you get much needed one on one attention. I can only speak for the science program but from my experience thus far it has been amazing. Alum: I really liked the faculty. I had over 7 different professors and almost all had PhDs. So, they were very knowledgeable in their field. They were kind and approachable. I still keep in touch with them from time to time even if I do not need any as a reference. I learned a lot from them. I wish they can improve the communication from the International Education department because it can be very difficult at times to get a hold of them for basic things. Thanks.... Read 7 reviews
