Master's Student: How will obtaining an advanced degree after 44 years in the workforce help to achieve my lifetime goals? Most people at age 74 would rather choose to sit back and enjoy retirement. Not me! Upon graduation from Albany Law School in 1976, my thoughts and goals included an LLM in Taxation. My legal aid service resulted in my name being placed on the Southern Poverty Law Center Wall of Tolerance in 2004 in recognition of efforts on behalf of Native Americans. So here it is 44 years later and I am doing what is the most enjoyable part of law for me, taxation. Syracuse University welcomed me as a veteran with open arms. In a year and a half, I completed a double major in History and Economics graduating in December 1972 Summa cum Laude. Washington University School of Law St. Louis, Missouri has an online program to achieve an LLM in Taxation in one year. Graduate Student: I liked the human rights clinical program. I liked the fact that I was able to develop strong and meaningful relationships with quite a lot of my professors, which I was neither expecting nor really going for. I like that the Trojan network is really real, SO many alumni have helped me in my job/internships searches and said to coffee when I emailed them without even knowing them. I like that I get to spend my last semester of law school abroad doing really cool, meaningful work. The law library was pretty meh though.... Read 1 review

Current Master's student: Northeastern is an unusual law school that fosters collaboration over competition with your peers. It's less aggressive than a typical law school which is great. However, the student body is very left leaning and students outside of that (even those who are just less extreme liberal) are often disrespected and shunned during class discussions. I was enjoying both of my personal and academic lives there. the law library is well-stored for the law reviews and law classics. The study environment is pleasant and exciting about amenities as well as natural resources. The constitutional law class is encouraging to stimulate a participation of students. Many cutting edge caliber of professors and students exchange their ideas and explore the best of public goods for every corner of public agendas. The legal issues are well prepared for the team of moot courts. The audit system for LL.M and SJD students provide a wonderful opportunity to study american laws. It is embroiled with the research topic for in-depth investigation. The supervision of faculty are warm and homely. In some cases, they even allow to use their faculty room for their sabbatical year. Current Doctoral student: The academic programa has professors that choose really good bibliography that approaches importante issues, that really care about the students and help them all the time with any difficulties and that are always well prepared for the classes. The classes are really interactive and the whole structure of the university makes us enjoy studying there. There are also many different sectors where you can go to get professional help for mental and physical issues. Another amazing thing is the number of student organizations that existe and how they welcome people from the most different countries and backgrounds. My program as an international black student has been great. The professors are super helpful and always willing to listen to your questions. The school is a culturally diverse school. So, all the students and professors are friendly and everyone is willing to Assist one another. The lectures are usually interactive. So, there is no way you won’t understand what the professor is saying. There are opportunities for students to intern with Top firms and companies during summer which is the best propeller for any student to excel after school.
