School of Government - University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Reviews
Rating 5 out of 5 3 reviews
I am in their online Master of Public Administration (MPA) program pursuing a concentration in nonprofit management. I love how applicable the curriculum is, how even though it's online, the work feels diverse and engaging, and most of the professors are very knowledgeable, kind, helpful, and make the classes fun and applicable to the real world. The class sizes are small, so I'm getting to know other students and still have some sense of community despite not being on campus. My advisors and other faculty have always gone the extra mile to answer my questions and make sure I am having a worthwhile experience. So far, I cannot speak highly enough of this program. It's been a great fit for me and the flexibility to go at my own pace is so helpful as I also work full-time and have other commitments and responsibilities.
The coursework specifically has been very engaging. Ranging from readings, to some quizzes, to online discussion boards, to videos from other MPA students, faculty, and professionals in various fields, live class discussions, small and large group work, papers, presentations, and gaining valuable hands on experience by doing research, getting to know your local government, and working with different agencies on real issues.
I went to the graduate school of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It was a wonderfully supportive environment where professors and students challenged you but also were very understanding. The classes offered were fascinating, and participation from students enriched it further.
