I have taken a few classes and am alway in awe by the curriculum the professors present and the readings we are given. We are taught by very well known researchers and psychologist in the field who are able to give us real life examples. The professors are so understanding and want the best for all their students that they are willing to work with you one-on-one during office hours to answer questions or provided guidance. Class sizes are decent size, 15-20 student, allowing the professors to know each student. There is a lot of reading and at times a lot of papers, however the program provided free homework help and has a writing center available for all students.
I am currently part of the Counseling Psychology program and am amazed by all the facility and staff. This program is different from others because the professors challenge you to become the clients and reflect on your own well being and why you want to be part of the mental health field. The class sizes are decent and the professors always get a chance to know who you are, which makes the education more personable. My peers are also very open and kind making it easier to form friends and study groups. There is always a helping, understanding hand to find if you need assistance.
Since we are experiencing school during a pandemic, the professors are understanding of unforeseen events and make an effort to accommodate they. Following up with students that are following behind is not uncommon. Classes are recorded and posted online, so that if you work, you can catch the lesson. This is also helpful if you get distracted during class.
