Prescott College Reviews

I can only speak to the PhD in Sustainability Education program. I found it dominated by cancel cultism with an undercurrent of insecurity and covert aggression. Far Leftist, Sexist (in that the women seemed threatened by other women), and Ageist (um, every2020one knows how to use tech, not just "kids." Goofy.) The program's core faculty and lead dismiss achievements and learnings from before 2010. I'm a professional researcher, and pursue and use highest-level, cutting-edge, multi-disciplinary research relentlessly, yet know there's much to learn and build on from the past. Controlling behaviors around discourse. Actual cutting off. These are all symptoms of cultural narcissism which is antithetical to higher learning. One professor demonstrated more authenticity, compassion, and willingness to listen. Otherwise, hardcore woke hypocrisy. If you don't mind being assimilated into a limited worldview, some of the program's community assignments are cool. Zoom first to ensure fit!
One of the reasons that I decided to go to Prescott College is because of their degree program Social Justice and Community Organizing. I have been searching for a Master’s degree program which would help to facilitate my goal to support communities while expanding my passion to support the objectives of the various groups for which I work and volunteer. I believe the faculty and coursework of the Prescott Master’s Program in Social Justice and Community Organizing will help me achieve these goals. I am energized to think about how I can use those ideas in system advocacy and confront audism with the D/HH/DB community work. The education I will receive through the Prescott College’s Mobilizing Change and Leadership Development Program will help me to advance the various boards and agencies through enhancing advocacy, following project timelines, and finding ways to develop new leaders .
The community engagement assignments were very good. Discussion of literature was scattershot. Zero accountability for teamwork -- unacceptable in 2020 to assign group work without accountability to group members. Some media assigned us were student projects that had not been validated so were full of factual holes! Some data pulled out of context. Low expectations for written communication. Thanks to my parents and previous degree work, very little info presented was new. Contemporary jargon, at least.
