Point Park University Reviews

12 reviews
Point Park University is a smaller school, so you really have the time to get to know the students, professors and faculty on a personal level. With smaller classes, you have the ability to choose how the class is run, whether it's a hands-on field trip to a workplace or creating custom projects for the class to work on. Point Park also chooses professors that have worked for years in your field/major so the experiences and advice given is really real-world from a first-hand experience.

As for improvements, Point Park could be more organized with communication and efficiency. It can take a while for Point Park to respond to concerns and it can take even longer for action to take place if required. This also extends to some professors, who can forget to check their school emails frequently enough. However, this is an issue that can be resolved and/or overlooked given the quality of the education provided.

The Graduate program has been very useful. Most classes are designed to work on a major project/paper throughout the semester that is developed for the student's portfolios. So far, my academics have been with real-world clients, so I can have a hands-on learning experience while developing my professional portfolio and networking. Professors are knowledgeable about the fields they teach, so the information is usually very useful and relevant.
The program was fine. But they messed up my schedule quite a few times, causing me to have to take 2 classes at once which they don't recommend. Communication between department heads was sketchy and almost caused me to be kicked out of the program because of their own error of not signing a document I needed. But the program and what I learned was very beneficial, very challenging, professors really challenged me to do better.
