I studied at Parsons for a year long graduate program during the academic year 2021-2022. They had just resumed in person classes with a bit of remote sessions towards the beginning. They handled COVID testing and protocols for on campus learning well. I lived on campus and explored a lot of spaces and facilities like the libraries in different buildings, Making Center, cafeteria, etc. The school itself is really great, but I also felt it was just a school that carries itself on prestige… I wish they cared more about their students’ complaints more rather than just talking about how successfully they navigated the return to on campus learning.
I found it very constructive in terms of feedback however when it comes to connection professors weren't the most helpful nor the school itself. It doesn't connect graduating students with potential employers.
Some instructors I had deeply cared about their students and checked in to make sure students were comprehending and benefiting from the course and assignments. These instructors were also willing to stay after class for a bit to answer questions as well as offer feedback outside of class time online. Other instructors were hired last minute and for part-time roles; they didn’t know how to teach and did not seem to care about their students.
