The teachers are great!! They care about your learning. The counselors not so much, they schedule oddly. Seems to be more worried about$$ than students needs.
I attended Ottawa University's Master of Arts of Professional Counseling program, and I enjoyed every minute of the time I spent there. Their professors are knowledgeable in their content areas, and willing to have further discussion on a topic if it is clear that the majority of the class is struggling to grasp the concept. Classes were diverse, with students coming from a variety of ethnic as well as generational (my classmates ranged in age from their twenties to their sixties) backgrounds. The only thing I did not like about Ottawa was its location; not only was the campus building located in a less-than-favorable area of Phoenix, the fact that it was in Phoenix made for a long drive to and from class for me. Thankfully, each class was only one night a week, so I did not have to make that drive every day, just once or twice a week, depending on my class schedule.
It would be nice if the first week of class was dedicated to teaching to be familiar with the study style and expectations along with sample class work and homework. The class time should be equally divided into the professor teaching the course and student teacher discussions.
