Middlebury Institute for International Studies at Monterey Graduate Reviews

6 reviews
While there are some things that I newly learned, the actual courses didn't live up to the PR hype, and underwhelming for an already experienced professional.
The main benefit to a degree would be the school's reputation & industry connections, and not the actual experience gained in the course material.
The entire campus is on a steep hill, which can be a problem if you have issues walking (I have plantar fasciitis and bad knees) and parking is nearly impossible. Housing in the area is really expensive and difficult to come by, but to be expected from a coastal town in California. The neighborhood is really safe but don't expect a partying college town.

Poor student service; only concerned with self-preservation. Curriculum has fallen to a undergraduate level, with the exception of IDP and Translation/Localization programs. They are entirely focused on attracting Chinese students, who, with this being the usual story in higher ed, pay full tuition.
Excellent school for connections and networking. All the top agencies, non-profits and global companies recruit here. It is also an awesome location.
