As a graduate student at MTSU, I have greatly enjoyed and found directly applicable value in the programs that I have studied. Most of the professors have real-world experience in the fields in which they teach. My professors were easily accessible and very helpful. Plenty of research opportunities were made available. I didn't live on campus, however, the campus facilities are first-rate and even the food services are great. The library services, both physical and online, are excellent and they offer specific library assistance to graduate students, which made some of the research I was doing much easier. The administrators are available if needed, and the tuition was so affordable that the return on investment for both of my graduate degrees is excellent. There are over 700 current research projects being conducted in the College of Graduate Studies. I would strongly encourage anyone to consider MTSU as an option for their graduate and undergrad education needs.
Middle Tennessee State University is large enough to provide an array of excellent programs yet small enough to keep the experience personal. The faculty and staff are approachable and easy to work with while maintaining a strong sense of professionalism. The portfolio of available graduate programs has over 130 different program options and is growing rapidly. They want to see you succeed and flourish -- they provide a supportive environment. The area has many entertainment and outdoor recreation venues which provide a much-needed respite from your academic work. I give MTSU high marks in the areas that are important to succeeding in graduate school.
Middle Tennessee State University is located in a rural area in Middle Tennessee. Just forty minutes outside of the state capital, Nashville.
The city is a college town that is gradually growing into an urban resident. Crime rate is significantly low.
The school is slightly diverse with student body having a significant amount of international students. The professors are friendly. Just like any other school, you May find faculty staff who treat you badly. The chances are low. This is an overall good university and I am really proud to be a graduate of the college. The professors in the Engineering Technology and Mechatronics departments are great professors to work with.
For foreign applicants, it’s important you evaluate your degree with a NACES accredited agency before applying. SpanTran gives you a discount if you are applying through MTSU website. Good luck.
