McDaniel College Reviews
Rating 5 out of 5 13 reviews
McDaniel College's Innovations in Teaching and Learning programs offers a high quality education with relevant courses that expanded my knowledge of the education system. While some content was challenging, it pushed me in a way that stretched my abilities and brought great pride when I was successful.
I greatly appreciate the helpful faculty, as I was heavily pregnant when I first started the program. As I neared my due date, they made clear they would accommodate me, if needed. While I did not need accommodations then, having kept up with my classwork, even in the delivery room, I needed assistance soon after. I fell down a flight of stairs at seven weeks postpartum, injuring both of my arms, left shoulder, and right wrist, which made it extremely difficult to complete online work. My professors saw me as a person and worked with me throughout that difficult time. I ended up finishing my first semester with a 4.0 GPA. My only challenge has been funding to continue with the program.

The school is really good about keeping a good line of communication between students and staff. Applying was simple and I was able to get frequent updates about my progress for my application. When I was accepted, I felt like my application was personally reviewed because they made comments on my essays which was really appreciated. When I had questions about applying for classes I was always answered within 48 hours which was incredibly helpful. The community around McDaniel College is diverse and welcoming.
Academics at Mcdaniel related to my major and we all related to my career goal. It was nice to have a school that didn’t waste the student’s time with useless electives, but instead kept their focus on the career path the student was pursuing. Classes never filled up because there was a certain system in place so that I didn’t have to wake up at the crack of dawn to sign up for classes and pray that a requirement wasn’t swooped up by someone who could sign up earlier than me. Classes are small and intimate so a student can really take advantage of the professor's time and get the most out of their learning.
