This program incorporates both hands-on and in the classroom experiences. The professors bring real word experiences into the program which helps students visualize what we learn. The program offers a variety of courses and teaches an array of theories which is not incorporated into other graduate programs. The students are very friendly and supportive of one another which makes the academic stress more manageable. This program offers both online and in-person courses which allows me to work full-time and still complete my courses on time. Overall, this program is very flexible and offers informative methods of counseling and the ability to practice them as well.
Well, I was a Criminal Justice major and the majority of the professors who taught courses in the field of study brought their past experiences to what the class was covered in our lectures. They even added some humor to go along with some of the topics covered. However, the real engagement in my studies didn't come until I took my online courses. In Cultural Diversity, the professor posted videos about almost every topic throughout the course that I even looked up more information online about the topic or person. I was pretty cool to learn about other races and cultures.
My educational experience at Lewis University was just what I expected from a students point of view from the class sizes to the professors who know their material coming from their past careers in their fields. Also, if you ever needed help in either Math or Writing, Lewis had tutoring centers to aid students in those subjects. I liked the Writing Center that was in the library because that place helped me become a better writer from start to finish during my tutor sessions. The only thing I would like Lewis to change is the Wi-Fi because it's slow at times and the computers on campus aren't always available when needed.
