I spent many months researching the best DNP nursing program that fit my needs. Even though there were many to choose from, I could already tell that JHUSON put much more effort to make their students feel comfortable by holding multiple info sessions, sending weekly newsletters, creating social media content about the Baltimore area and charm of JHU campus, and being flexible during the pandemic to allow students to complete all courses and Skills Intensives from home. Unlike Duke (which wasn't flexible to my needs for my DNP project), Columbia (which required me to move on-campus to NYC), and Penn (which still does not offer BSN-DNP), JHUSON impressed me with giving me the option to do Dermatology clinical hours, all online format courses, and offered a BSN-DNP. It is no wonder why US News & World Report rank JHUSON's Adult Gerontology Primary Care DNP program as #1 in the USA for 2020. I'm so grateful for getting accepted to this program and I can't wait to start in the Fall!
Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing is simply incredible. The faculty are informed, engaging, and supportive. I have experienced nothing short of positive encounters with my instructors and fellow classmates. Everyone pushes each other to succeed. I am so thankful to be apart of such a wonderful program and school!
The program is great overall. There is a lot of opportunities and JHH tends to take very good care of their students, especially in the nursing program. However, considering the COVID pandemic and the overall surrounding environment around the school, these things impact the school poorly.
