Idaho State University Reviews

The MA in Spanish program at Idaho State University is a great option overall. It is ideal for those still working full time but are looking to add a masters to their education history. With it being all online, it allows you to work when it's convenient for you (there are due dates within the class, but the classes are asynchronous)! On top of the flexibility with the program, the professors are extremely helpful. They are available at times that work with people's schedules who work full time, they are understanding that most students are working full time while taking classes, they help with program/tuition related things, offer a variety of classes each term, and prepare you well for your exit exams. In all honesty, there is nothing I would change about this program. It has been totally doable while maintaining a full time teaching job. I am very pleased with the MA in Spanish program at ISU and highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to further their education in Spanish.
The academic program at Idaho State University was a competitive one. Many of the professors had worked outside academia, with most of them being jointly appointed as professors and at the Idaho National Laboratory in Idaho Falls, ID so they had a real-perspective on what would make a successful nuclear engineer. The classes were difficult and often required long-hours spent outside class either programming using several pieces of proprietary software or working on paper-based homework with your fellow classmates. The class-sizes were small with nearly no graduate class exceeding 10 students. In order to be cross-trained outside nuclear, you also had multiple required classes in other engineering disciplines of your choosing. The teachers were engaged and passionate, and there is few universities in the world where you can practice hands-on the principles you learned on a real nuclear reactor. Which we were able to do at Idaho State University.
Idaho State University was a great experience, between my bachelor's degree and two graduate degrees, I spent 10 years in Idaho. After moving their from Washington state, it was a cultural adjustment, but with so many people from across the United States, it truly was a melting pot of cultures. There were international students who I became close friends with and even folks from my home state in my dormitory building. The program was incredibly difficult and time-consuming, but part of college is learning to balance your part-time job and full-time school while still growing as an individual. The community around Pocatello and Chubbuck was incredibly supportive of the University with many of the folks in the community actively engaging with the college staff and students.
