Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy Reviews

4 reviews
Professors, staff, and students are all top-notch. You are challenged daily with the amount and rigor of work, but the college has a robust support network to prevent being overwhelmed. My colleagues came from all over the world with varied areas of expertise and experience. This created a truly inspiring atmosphere and fostered opportunities to collaborate on many different ideas. The college puts on many cultural and happy hour events to meet new people and relax. Additionally, the Career Services office is staffed by very helpful advisors.

Heinz College has many "Minis" to choose from. These are half semester courses that allow you to do a quick and fairly deep dive into specific subjects. It is useful because you get exposure to a lot of different subjects through the duration of your program, but it can be hard too. Since you only have several weeks to learn everything, the pace is quick. The core courses create a solid base for the program. There are tons of electives to branch out into your sub-specialty. Also, you are typically able to take classes at the computer science school or business school, which provides further flexibility.
Lots of electives, breadth of subjects to be studied. Too hectic, however. Time management is key. Excellent & helpful staff and management.
