College of Nursing and Health Sciences - University of Vermont Graduate Reviews

2 reviews
I am about to begin my studies for my Doctorate in Nursing Practice, and also attended UVM as an undergraduate student. As an undergraduate I studied Athletic Training in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and always knew that AT would not be my forever profession, but would be a great way to get experience before applying to graduate programs. After my experience undergrad at UVM I knew that going through the DNP program for graduate school would be an amazing opportunity. It is a small, competitive program just like AT was undergrad, but both include rigorous coursework, supportive professors who are passionate about teaching as well as about the material they teach, and a beautiful campus with access to a Level I trauma center! Burlington VT is a beautiful place to live, work, and be.

Although UVM is a large university, CNHS is a small and tight-knit group of individuals. I know the dean on a first name basis and see her in and out of classes regularly. The professors are all professionals in their fields, and it is wonderful to be able to know them personally so that they can support us through the material we are learning. They have real life experience to backup the "textbook" information. Truly they go above and beyond what I expected to make sure students are prepared for licensing exams, and ready for the real world.
