College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences - University of Houston Reviews
Rating 4 out of 5 3 reviews
The University of Houston is a great place to attend college. The campus feel is rather friendly and welcoming. The classes are easy to sign up for and there are plenty of availability in classes. The professors are firm but friendly. The programs and classes are interesting and full of needed information to move forward. The only change I would make would be work on making UH a bit more diverse! I suggest going to HBCUs around the country and introducing the students of color to UH. It would be so nice to see more people of color and programs geared towards different populations.
Overall, UH is a wonderful place to get an education! Go COOGS!

The academic program is rather good at the University of Houston. I have three social work classes and they are robust and full of great information. The choices of classes at UH is very good and allows students to follow their academic path and find classes that fit their program. The advisors at UH are on top of things and are always able and willing to help. I would honestly say that UH is a great place for academics!
I'm currently enrolled in the online social work program. It's so incredibly manageable that it makes working a full time job possible. The ability to work and pursue a masters without accruing more debt or stress is truly amazing. Not to mention the professors are excellent and the administrative staff are wonderful. I applied in 2017 and was offered admission for Fall 2018. I accepted but ended up backing out because another program had given me a scholarship. Unfortunately the other program did not work out in the end and University of Houston let me back in immediately. They just added me to the deferral list as it was well after courses had already started for the semester. They didn't make me reapply or submit another deposit. They were so flexible and willing to accommodate me.
