I have struggled with the schedule. Assignments are due less than 48 hours after semester opens, with major assignments due in four days, that require about 50 pages of reading. This is incredibly difficult for working students. The advisors gave me generic feedback such as tips for time management instead of taking my feedback as a poor student experience. I also had to purchase additional software for some classes to view videos and turn in assignments., in addition to purchasing the textbook. Lastly, some of the assignments are given with only a rubric and little to no explanation or guidance. There are no lecture, only power point slides and text books.
My experience at CU has been one of friendly faces and faculty and staff who are eager to help wherever they can. The Christian culture of service on this campus is unlike any I've seen. I've even seen a Vice President of the college showing a new student and family around! From the top down, these folks are true servant leaders and I am pleased to call CU my home!
I'm an out-of-state student enrolled in am online Master's program. What attracted me to the university was the cost. Coming from a state school in an urban setting on the West Coast and now doing an asynchronous online Master's program at a "small town", religiously affiliated college in the South is definitely different (i.e. diversity, pace, topics of schoolwide communication). But the support I've received from the admissions process all the way to the professors themselves has been good thusfar (I'm in the first semester). The class size is comfortable at no more than 30 students. My only improvement would be a few snafus and miscommunications that have arisen in the online setting with Moodle.
