The academics that I went through at Cambridge College involved a lot of coursework and collaboration; however, it was worth it! As a student in their School of Education, it is essential to understand the artifacts and assignments that can prepare you to become an educator, from passing MTELs to learning how to construct a lesson plan by using Universal Design for Learning (UDL). This may seem very heavy work, but again it is worth it because when you become a teacher, you will experience these types of work during your work day. The Math courses for my Math Education program involved algebra, geometry, statistics, and calculus, along with courses utilizing Math in the field of education such as inclusion, Common Core standards, and preparation for student teaching/practicum. From my experience in academics, my professors were very supportive in showing us how to do assignments with pre-made templates and resources. Overall, the work in my program was heavy, yet resourceful.
Cambridge College was, by far, the best graduate school I have ever chosen. There are many programs to choose from, whether you are interested in management, psychology, education, and so much more. The staff are incredible and the campus is beautiful. I am currently in a Mathematics Education program and the professors I have taken (and currently taking) were exceptional and flexible. I have tried to apply many colleges that can help me become a Math teacher, but none of them has this program… except Cambridge College. Also, the college is very close to my home, the tuition is affordable, and it is an adult-based educational institution that supports everyone. Although I spent my years at Cambridge College remotely due to COVID, I really enjoyed what they have to offer for me. Since I am almost finished with my program, if I have some more leeway, I wouldn’t mind do another program to extend my lifelong learning. In my opinion, this college is a 10/10 for me. Highly recommended!!!!!!
I love the dedication that the professors and my adviser show me. There is an intimate feel, being it is such a small cohort, and the teachers are passionate about what they teach and do in their counseling careers. I like how a lot of the professors graduated from Cambridge College and are teaching there now, while also pursuing their counseling careers. It gives me hope and excitement to be able to be in that same position some day. The financial aid office can sometimes make mistakes and be hard to get a hold of/ mistakes settled. Other than that, I love my experience here so far!
