CSUDH Master of Public Administration is accredited by NASPAA. It has many different modalities that are offered, along with many different concentrations, while offering multi-disciplinary expertise and research. It has a diverse population and fosters community. There has been a diverse population of professors that teach different subjects along with their different perspectives. The worst part of this experience is having a disorganized professor and having no communication with them making our direction of the class confusing. Also having classes that are very late during the day and/or Saturday.
The best part of the CSUDH Master's Program on Social Work is the diversity that the program has. In addition, the program is based on Critical Race Theory (CRT) which helps to analyze situations with a CRT lens. The professors do a great job involving micro and macro in our assignments and helping us understand the client and their environment. The worst part is that the school is in a disfranchised community that needs more resources. Specifically, money to help students attend Lobby Days in Sacramento to fight for policies that impact our communities and clients.
As a graduate student at CSUDH, I have had a great experience. There is constant communication through email from the department to remind you of deadlines and other important dates. Staff are readily accessible with any questions that you may have, and you are encouraged to drop into the office at any time should you need any guidance. I have personally never had a negative experience with the program that I am enrolled in. Furthermore, the campus offers plenty of activities that allow you to de-stress for a moment.
