California State University - Chico Reviews

9 reviews
The professors here are incredibly passionate about their field of study. I feel greatly impacted by my fellow peers to keep pushing to do better in my work. This campus is stunning--with tall redwoods, a creek running though, and dense rose gardens. California State University, Chico provides a welcoming community for anyone who seeks higher education. Their emphasis on diversity and kindness really makes this an excellent learning environment.

Chico gets SUCH a bad rep and it really shouldn't. The campus is GORGEOUS, the professors all are highly qualified and intelligent, and it really isn't that #1 party school Playboy Magazine deemed it to be in the 80s. All staff, faculty, most students, and all administration are incredibly kind and hardworking and will bend over backward to help you. Unlike other "better" schools, Chico courses have many quizzes/assignments that go into the grade book instead of just a midterm and a final. Overall better pedagogy and makes it super easy to get a great GPA provided that you put in the work. I love it here and really wish it didn't have the reputation that it does; the high acceptance rate is truly a gift, take advantage. I do wish there was a football team because nobody cares about any of the other sports but whatever, you get to know so many people by being active in any of the hundreds of ways to get involved. Plus, downtown Chico is amazing and adorable.
The academics were challenging but engaging, creating a fun learning environment. The instructors were genuinely passionate about what they were teaching, providing clear lesson plans.
