I loved the department heads! My interview was relaxed, pleasant and informative. Everyone I have contacted with questions has been polite, and incredibly helpful. A great experience!
It's hard to pinpoint just one course, but it behooves me to recognize Professor Seth Rockman's course on the shared history of slavery and capitalism. In addition to providing deep historical roots, it tied the historical knowledge with companies and organizations still thriving to this day. Professor Meghan Kallman was also another standout professor with her course on Society and Culture in the Age of Globalization, which really challenged many of my assumptions. Caroline Kuo's course on "THE IMPRINT OF TIME, SPACE AND PLACE IN OUR BODIES: UNDERSTANDING HEALTH DISPARITIES" forever changed my perspective on public health issues and was incredibly informative, particularly with understanding issues related to COVID 19.
I've loved my professors at Brown, as I feel they have been communicative, responsive, understanding, and accommodating, while providing top tier education and instruction. I do miss a lot of things due to COVID and wish they could increase camaraderie between programs and integrate online and campus learning more so that a large percentage of the student population isn't missing the full social experience of college and graduate school.
