Boricua College Reviews
Rating 3.67 out of 5 6 reviews
The notion that scholarly knowledge should not only be created through research but also be usable in everyday settings has had a significant impact on my academic experience. This viewpoint is in line with Boyer's notion of the scholarship of application, which highlights the significance of tying scholarly service to one's field of specialization. I have placed a strong emphasis on developing information and abilities that may be used to tackle real-world issues throughout my academic career. Scholarship is a crucial aspect of academia that fosters the exchange of knowledge and ideas between academic institutions and communities. It creates a climate in which these two entities can effectively communicate with each other, leading to the advancement and progress of both parties. Through scholarship, academic institutions like Boricua College can bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and its application in real-world settings.
My life is devoted to helping people, which is why I am pursuing a master's degree in teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. This is in memory of all the people who came before me and for whom I was unable to open these doors. Considering how the past several years have gone, this means a great deal to me. I am now moving forward knowing who I am. I would like to give back and teach others. In my professional life I was able to gain great experiences but in order to be able to get into higher places you need a masters degree in my line of work. I know it’s work and networking to gain a platform in order to get visibility to the causes that I want to bring awareness to. I am in pursuit of obtaining my second masters degree in TESOL. I believe education is everything. You have to be a student before you can be a teacher. I look forward to teaching in the future.
Between the accessibility to professors, supportive creative environment, and diverse community I was able to focus and complete my complete in a year and a half. Although the course load can challenging at times, it prepared me to create organization skills necessary for my future career as a NYC ENL Teacher/ Coordinator.
