Appalachian State is a great school and has many great faculty and staff. The staff are always there for you when you need help/resources throughout your college education here. Also, the teachers are always available via office hours, email, and sometimes by cellphone (depending on the teacher). This school is very diverse in culture, races, and religions! There is plenty of clubs to be apart of that will fit your interest! Overall, a great school to get your college degree at and feel at home.
I am in the elementary education program and I feel that I have been prepared to the best of my university’s ability to be an outstanding teacher. I have had many field experiences that have prepared me even more so than the courses I have taken. I am grateful for the priceless education that I have received from this university. I have been inspired to further my education into grad school in order to receive my master’s degree in reading education! This area of specialization will help me in the classroom and in order to become a reading specialist!
I've not attended the school as of yet. What I do like about their graduate program for Library Science is that the classes are all available online, in the evening hours. As someone who has to keep her full time job to provide for her family and help cover insurance costs, this is extremely helpful. Also, I've asked questions here and there to the staff and they have all been responsive in helping me be informed and know that I am making the right choice by making them my first choice to apply to for graduate school.
