Abilene Christian University Reviews

The best part is the course work is challenging but the staff is very supportive and helpful. Professors respond quickly, the academic success coaches are available and proactive, and the technical support department is always ready to help.
The worst part is the program is online so you don’t have as much interaction with your student cohort. This is due to the nature of distant learning. I think the university does well at creating ways that foster interaction, however it’s only so much you can do when you are physically in the same environment.
Also, finding funding is difficult. I’m completing my first year of three in the graduate program. I’ve been approved for my practicum site and I’ve maintained a strong 4.0 gpa. This is a significant accomplishment because last year I entered the program on academic probation.
I am passionate about becoming a family therapist. It shows in my academic success. I need more funding to continue and finish and it’s difficult finding it.

Abilene Christian University is a wonderful school with incredible staff. This is the first college that I have attended that I have felt so respected and important. Everyone at this school is very personable from the admissions process all the way to your first day of classes. I feel so blessed to be able to go to a school that highly values my education along with my faith. I would definitely recommend this university to anyone who is thinking about applying!
So far so good. I love how they connect you with an admissions counselor, a financial counselor, and a student advisor- all before you start. I will be starting March 9th. I have already connected with all my counselors and complete the new student orientation virtually. It was extremely helpful and covered a wide range of topics from APA writing style, to google computer saviness, and campus resources available virtually. I am definingly excited. I even get a t-shirt for completing the modules for orientation. They know how to get you prepared and feeling connected and comfortable. I am so excited!
