York Technical College Reviews
I loved my experience at York Tech. The guidance conselor at my high school recommended attending YT as a “stepping stone” to lead me into my four-year school of choice. It was affordable. My advisor Mr. Grant was a big help I do not think I could have done it without him. He caught my attention during orientation where I applied for the Presidential Scholars, a program for hard working students with a GPA higher that 3.0 I believe. Anyways, this program ensured students would be in “cohorts” Or classes with the same set of students. This helped me make friends and study groups to Starbucks. In addition the program paid for my books the whole first year! Wahoo! I loved it and if I could go back and take that leap to a four year school right out of college I don’t think I would. I saved money, adjusted to the college level of homework, while attending a great community of teachers and students.
This is my second year here at York Tech after graduating from York Preparatory High School, and I have genuinely enjoyed my experience thus far. I have completed my prerequisites, and will be starting the Associate's Degree in Nursing program this August. York Tech is a smaller, more intimate campus setting; while some could see that as a hindrance, I personally find it advantageous. In addition to the mutual motivation and promotion for success among faculty and students, York Tech also exemplifies and encourages student participation with upcoming activities year round. I am presently a Student Ambassador, as well as a member of the PROMISE/ STEM Program and president of the Christian Fellowship Club. Although I am involved in a multiple organizations, my story is only “scratching the surface” of what York Tech has to offer! 10/10 Recommend!
I enjoy going to York Technical College. The instructors have all been helpful. All advising and student service questions and /concerns have been answered in a quick timeframe. I like the fact that I can go to college local to my hometown and I do not have to add the expense of having a dorm to my parents. Registering for classes have been easy. The bookstore has been easily accessible. The D2L program is very user friendly. If I have any issues with D2L if I contact the appropriate person and/or department, it is a quick fix. To me everything deserves 5 stars.
