Wright State University Reviews
Rating 3.52 out of 5 1,784 reviews
Wright State University (Dayton campus) is an amazing institution. It is located in Fairborn, Ohio, and the closest big city is Dayton, although Columbus and Cincinnati are fairly close too.
All of the professors I had during one semester there were amazing (majoring in psychology). The campus is beautiful, especially in the fall, and the school has underground tunnels for when it is cold or raining outside. The dorms are close to the campus, and for people with cars, there is parking available.
There are a lot of international students. There are a lot of commuter students too, so the events on campus are not visited that much. However, they are awesome! There is a fitness and wellness program, with a swimming pool, group fitness classes, two gyms, and more.
Wright State is one of the cheaper universities too, especially for locals. Overall, I would recommend anyone to at least take a tour.

The population of this smaller University is very diverse and very active in its diversity which is fabulous and the professors really care about their students succeeding. However, the administration of the school is crap. The higher administrators treat the professors badly and they really don't understand what it is to be in the classroom anymore actively teaching classes. They also make it really hard for students to get the answers they need for various things. It is so hard for me to get a straight answer about scholarships and financial aid even in the financial aid office! One would think that for a more liberal school they would give out more scholarships to their need based students, and not for the president's country club membership.
Wright State University is a good option for anyone seeking a cost-effective education. I liked that Wright State was close to home and quickly processed my transfer credits from a previous school. I also enjoyed the fact that the scheduling process was simple and easy. They had plenty of classes available for my major. However, I disliked that the school offered few extra-curricular activities and events for their students. College can be a crucial time in a person's life, it's important to have peers to share this time with. With the lack of these activities and events, it was very difficult to create meaningful friendships and connections.
