The admissions department at Western Governors University consists of high-quality, high-performing, driven adults willing to go the extra mile to see students succeed. I have been fortunate enough to work with several admissions counselors and every experience has been unmatched. Communication is of the utmost priority since everything is done online. We schedule time to speak multiple times a week if necessary. This ensure that we are aligned with action items for the upcoming week. It really helps me maintain a sense of stability in something that could be rather unstable. If other organizations could apply the same tenacity to the applicant experience, we'd all be happier!

This was my first experience with total online learning. I will say that in order for it to work, you HAVE to have self discipline because there is a lot of reading and writing involved, like any college. Let it be noted that if you get a degree from here, you better hope people have heard of it or that you live in a more open-minded area than what I do because most people where I live have a degree from a physical or well-known university. So have self-discipline and live in an open-minded area for this type of degree to hopefully land you a job/career. Otherwise, the education and staff were outstanding! Nothing wrong with the school or the learning!
The best decision I ever made was attending WGU. I have to option to accelerate through classes and get my degree sooner. The staff is friendly and always willing to help with one on one if needed. The recorded and live cohorts definitely help with my studies when I can't concentrate on reading the material. And finally, I look forward to my weekly meetings with my mentor. She is my cheerleader and my planner to help get me through each week with a plan. I would definitely lose motivation if I didn't have her cheering me on!
