I appreciate West Valley’s dedication to their students. Their options they offer in regards to classes, majors, late starts, teachers, and even cafeteria foods are diverse. They have many events and clubs available, too! They really seem to cater to the needs and wishes of their students. I do wish, however, that they would work on their online options... Their Portal is very confusing and trying to use a student email only to have to ask them to help me reset the password is frustrating and time consuming when I just want to login to pay for classes or check my schedule.

I came to West Valley during my junior year of high school for the Middle College program, and I instantly fell in love with the campus and community. This might sound cheesy but it's my home away from home, and now during quarantine I miss the simple days of walking to class on campus and passing by other students living in their own world. I'm lucky to have had so many supportive and incredible teachers who clearly love what they do. West Valley gives so many opportunities to be a part of the community. Whether it be clubs, guest speakers, or monthly small businesses, every student has a chance to interact with West Valley. There are so many people at West Valley who have made an impact on my life today: classmates, teachers, baristas, librarians. It's safe to say that West Valley has left a mark on my journey, and I'd do everything all over again in a heartbeat if it meant spending more time here.
Each of my professors did an excellent job transitioning to distance learning with the short amount of time that they had. I saw the effort that they poured into posting online recorded lectures and additional supplemental resources and truly appreciated the hard work they all put into it. My professors, instead of sticking to their scheduled office hours (about 2 days a week), extended their office hours to everyday in order to support their students. The resources that they provided were plentiful and even though I was missing the in-person environment of school, I can say for sure that I did not miss out academically in any way. The adaptation to online learning was hard for both students and professors so I am very appreciative of all of the accommodations that my professors made to make the transition (and the pandemic) just a little bit easier.
