The knowledge and coursework at West Hills College (Lemoore) helped prepared me for my undergrad transfer to Fresno State and graduate school at CSU Bakersfield. I started at West Hills College in Lemoore taking 1 or 2 classes per semester, although it took me 5 years to transfer to Fresno State it was worth it! The professors at West Hills were knowledgeable and provided the same course load (other than the writing portion) as a university which made the transition easy. I enjoyed the campus, the staff was friendly, and tutoring services to help students succeed. West Hills motto is "if you can go here you can go anywhere." I believe this is a true statement and the opportunity is yours!
COVID 19 has made schooling very different. All my professors have been great and are able to find ways to make the classes doable and engaging, making it almost impossible to fail! I also have a great counselor who responds quickly and always helps when I ask a question. I couldn’t ask for much to change considering the circumstances, but I do wish for everyone to be healthy and for the campus to be opened back up soon.
Overall, my experience at Lemoore college has been pretty rough due to family issues. Still, the counselors are beneficial and do their best to ensure you are on top of your school work along with being on top of your classes as well. I have really enjoyed my experience there with my classes online and in person as well. One main thing I would like to see change would possibly be for the teachers to be a little more lenient when family emergencies occur because situations such as those are out of our hands.
