I loved the strong student life. Because almost everyone lived on campus, there was always something happening. Student association events occurred on weekdays and weekends, there were concerts, athletics games, worship services, outdoor guided trips, and more. The spiritual life on campus was really genuine and made questioning and exploring my faith easy. The professors cared about your success and we learned from a lot of expert guest lecturers. I wish the internship experience had been more structured in my major, although I know other departments did better at placing interns. My study abroad experience through the college was exceptional. The food was vegetarian and had good variety until my last year, when management changed and it became much more monotonous. Overall, the well-rounded skills and personal connections I made at WWU were life changing.
Growth, is the single word I would use to describe Walla Walla University. As a freshmen who is currently attending Walla Walla University I have been able experience it in a new way from a different perspective. I described this school as "growth" because this school sets you up with the platform to grow educationally, spiritually, physically, and mentally. This school provides you with majors, professors, tutors, mentors, and more all for you to grow academically. It provides you with opportunities to experience Christ through church, vespers, worships, and more.
I love the community I have become a part of at Walla Walla University. Though the school offers a wide variety of majors and academic programs, I still have managed to develop friendships with so many students studying in programs different from my own. The school is small enough that I can recognize most students on campus, and I know many of them personally, so the community aspect is very strong. Most of my professors have been excellent as well. They care deeply about their students' success and take the time to help students whenever they are available. As a religious institution, I am grateful for the Christian environment and emphasis on spiritual growth individually and collectively. My faith has always been important to me and has helped me stay strong during my lowest moments. I am grateful for the impact all of my friends, professors, and campus leaders have had on my academic and spiritual growth.
